Tomas González Estrada

Conservative Party, Former Colombian Minister of Mining and Energy

Mr. González Estrada is the former Colombian Minister of Mining and Energy and an economist from the Universidad de los Andes. He ahs a  Ph.D. from the London School of Economics. Mr. González has also worked with British Petroleum (BP).

In regards to government service, Mr. González Estrada also served as Vice-Minister of Mining and Energy from 2010 to 2013. During this time,  he presided over the Regulatory Commission for Energy and Gas (CREG), was at the forefront of the creation of the National Mining Agency (ANM) and the reorganization of the gas sector, and led the restructuring of state entities involved in the mining-energy industry.
